Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palette - Review

Hey :)

So I recently stumbled across this Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in 'Rich Gold' when I was making an order on ASOS (I know, I have no shame in buying make-up when and wherever I can!). I think you will be able to see why this palette called to me; firstly it was a brand I have never tried before and secondly, it just looks stunning.

I am crazy in love about the packaging of this item, it's so simplistic but it looks like it's worth more than it actually is. I like how it's really sturdy - the hard glass casing doesn't seem flimsy at all - so this would be great for traveling. The next thing I noticed about this palette was the shades that it has - isn't it amazing?!, all the colours are super wearable I would say that 4/6 colours I could wear in the day and the other two would be great for giving a more smokey look at night. Pixi have definitely got their colour choices right, and I think that no matter how many nude palettes a person might own - this would be a great addition. 

There are two faults that I can find with this product, the first is the longevity - this product really doesn't last on me, I have oily eyelids and eyeshadow tends to crease on me. What I have noticed is higher quality shadows like Urban Decay and M.A.C tend to crease less and much more later into the day, but other palettes like this creases in a few hours which really sucks. The second fault that I find with this palette is that it is not crazily pigmented, however it still does get the job done, I think this is because the formula is more powdery than creamy. I don't think this is a major issue since these colours are extremely wearable even if they are sheer and so wearing this product as an all over wash of colour on the eyes would be the best use of it. 

At a retail price of £12, I would recommend trying it if you don't suffer from oily eyelids which crease, because apart from that fact I actually love it. So if you are a fan of the subtle nude shadows then definitely try our this super sleek palette!

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers - Worth the hype?

So my layout has changed! I absolutely love it and I hope you guys do too! Today I am going to be telling you my views about the legendary Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers. I have seen this eyelash curler being mentioned in videos and blogs for over 3 years now and so I am so glad my friend Sakura sent me this from Japan for me to review.

Clamp opened to its 'fullest'

So after test driving this for the past month I can happily say that yes they are worth the hype. They just curl your lashes nicely with practically no effort. I think it's the small window between the two clamps which catches all your lashes which  also helps to curl the lashes because it is so close to the lash line. I have noticed a major difference in the appearance of my lashes - they look more defined, stay curled for longer and look lengthened too.

 I know that if I did have the opportunity to try this then I would have bought it myself, even though it retails at £20. This can seem expensive but I have used my Revlon eyelash curlers for just under two years now and they are still in fantastic condition, and so I know that this eyelash curler will also last me a long time and worth the investment. I am literally in love with it. I think you will be able to see from the pictures how well it works on my eyelashes, they are normally short, grey and very very flat which sucks, so this is definitely a life saver. I also think it improves how your mascara is applied too as if they are curled and set properly then I really only need the black colour and thickness from my mascara.

So, if you are thinking about buying a new eyelash curler then I would definitely recommend this one, it's literally been a Godsend :)

Review: Japanese Mascaras!

So a few weeks back, I got a lovely parcel from Sakura who sent me a bunch of stuff :) There were three mascaras and I have tried all of them to see the differences between them. Here are my thoughts!

Holika Holika Magic Pole Mascara

I have to say this mascara has the best packaging by far - it just looks so dinky and cute. However it's the one I like the least because it has a really really wet formula which weighs down the lashes and so all that effort that went into curling them disappears within the first 5 minutes. I do like the design of the brush though - it has a ball at the end of the wand which is good for those hard to reach areas - I'm hoping this mascara will be better once it's dried a little!

EyesCream Volume W-mascara 

This mascara is pretty awesome - it has a primer on one side and the actual mascara on the other. The primer looks like it contains a bit of silicone but surprisingly it doesn't bunch up - it has a real smooth application that helps to prep and lengthen the lashes before adding the mascara. The mascara is nice - I like how it's good at lengthening the lashes and doesn't look clumpy. I actually wore this mascara on a day where it was really windy and snowing in Lancaster and I couldn't believe it didn't smudge! Literally once I got out of my building a giant piece of snow went into my eyes so this mascara is really good for extreme weather and really lasts all day.

K- Palette One Day Magic Fiber Mascara

I was the most intrigued about trying this mascara because I have never tried fibers to lengthen my lashes annnnnd I probably won't again. I have sensitive eyes that love to water a lot and so applying the fibers wasn't my favourite thing to do - it did lengthen the lashes but not excessively. The mascara in it wasn't that great alone either - it was really natural and not black either. One thing I found with these Japanese mascaras was that they were all quite natural - nothing clumpy at all which was good. The way I like to wear this mascara is to use the mascara side as a primer as it's good at separating and lengthening the lashes and then use my Maybelline The Falsies on top to make my lashes thicker and blacker. 

I loved trying out all of these mascaras - I definitely love the effect of the last two mascaras and I think I will reserve the first mascara as a bottom lash mascara. What's your favourite mascara? Comment below :)

Review: Max Factor FaceFinity All Day Primer

Hey guys :)
Today I am going to talk about a rather new product that I have added to my collection and it is: Max Factor FaceFinity All Day Primer (£10.99/30ml). 

I don't know if it is just me but this product looks different in comparison to other primers I have seen in the market - maybe it's the packaging? The primer is encased in a glass shell, which adds that bit of luxury we all like to feel in the morning, and has a pump - which is both useful and hygienic. The bad thing about the packaging is the size and weight - if you like to travel then I don't know how much space you would want to reserve for your primer and this product is slightly bigger than my foundation. I like how Max Factor have added 30ml of product to this primer - that's the standard amount you would receive in your foundation and so this product is sure to last as long as your desired foundation.

You can tell what sort of product this is going to be simply by the texture, it's more of a liquid consistency which means that it isn't going to reduce the look of pores (usually the texture of those primers are more thick and silicone based).  This product is solely for extending the wear of your foundation. This is something that I like because lets be honest, sometimes the 'do all' primers don't end up performing well in one single category. I really like this - it does actually work,  my make-up looks fresher for longer. I like that this isn't thick to apply on, with primers like this one you have to apply it on to your entire face and sometimes your face can feel loaded on before the foundation gets on, but with this product that's not the case at all. Anyone who is looking to extend the wear of their foundation and wants a light primer would be super pleased with this. I swear it's like glue for the face without being tacky or sticky, but you can notice before and after that your foundation really does mesh well with this primer.

In terms of price I think it is a fair amount to ask for - first I was shocked that the primer was above standard drugstore price but when you think of the amount you get then you get over that fact. I think they have done a great job with this primer and I would urge you guys to try it :)

Rimmel London Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner Review

Hey guys :)

First of all Happy New Year! (I know we are a couple of days in but the thought still counts), I hope you guys have had an amazing holiday :) Today I am going to be reviewing the Rimmel London Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner (£3.99/0.25g) in the colour 018 Addiction.

What I like:

1) Price: This is the first ever lip liner I have ever purchased and the reason I chose this one is because of the price and colour. At a very affordable £3.99 the price allows you (if you are like me) to test drive lip liners to see if it is for you and if it isn't then you haven't really lost out that much.

2) Longevity: So this is the reason I wanted to try lip liners - because we all know most lip sticks don't last that well on the lips. I can truly say that finding this has completely changed the game for me - it lasts for hours! This product has a matte finish and that is why it can stay on for as long as it does compared to cream formulas. 

3) Colour: I picked this product because of the colour - it's just a lovely pink (with a slight hint of purple) shade with some brown tones in it which makes it look very natural on the lips. It's a shade I think will look lovely on almost everyone.

4)  Packaging: So packaging-wise lip liners are quite slim and compact in general. Specifically, I love that this product is a twist up liner than a pencil, it just saves so much hassle when you don't have much time and it's so travel friendly. 

5) Quality: I love that I can apply this as a full on lip colour, a lip liner and underneath lipsticks so my lip colour last longer - it truly is quite multifunctional and worth the money for sure.

What I don't like: 

Drying: So having the benefits of longevity and having a matte finish usually means dry lips, which this product is guilty of. So although I don't mind that little fact too much, be sure to add lip balm prior to avoid having nicely coloured, but overall dry lips (it will help the ease of application too).

I think you guys can see that I was very impressed with this product :) I urge you guys to try it if you like the sound of it - I can't really fault it since it does everything and has exceeded my expectations and I know I will be obsessed with buying lip liners now.
